Payette Christian Church
History:
However, aside from a few individuals, the body we are today has nearly no ties at all to that past. We do have a story, though, of how we came to be and how we decided to go where we are going. The story is tragic and hopeful, all at the same time. We noticed that we were part of a group of people called Christians who love to preach and talk about a new kind of life- but who in general aren't actually living it. That we as Christians are great at learning about Jesus and saying we believe certain things about him, while at the same time forgetting how he taught us to treat others with love & compassion, dignity & respect. We also noticed that we as Christians have forgotten that being a follower of Jesus isn’t about condemning and opposing different points of view– but rather about bringing peace and understanding and caring to our neighbors. We saw that we Christians are great at tearing down other people for their opinions and ideas– unfortunately, Jesus has asked us to renew, restore, and rebuild.
