Arts Alliance 3rd Annual Solstice Celebration

Take a Walk on the West Side!

The Solstice Celebration embraces Sandpoint's Westside Arts District with loads of different activities for all ages. Starting at 5 pm on Friday night, June 19, the event begins at Foster’s Crossing at 504 Oak Street in downtown Sandpoint.  Both indoors and out, there will be art activities for youth, a raku pottery demonstration, live music, food and drink, and artist vendors.  Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.

The Walk on the West Side is a tour of five different art studios.  Each location has goofy art activities, designed for adults. (Children are also welcome).  Be prepared to participate and have fun! No previous art experience is required, just an open mind and good attitude. Maps of each location will be provided at each site.  The total area encompasses two city blocks, easy for walking and bicycling.

Activities and locations include:

- (Inside) Foster's Crossing Antiques: Abstract Ink Blowing (indoors)

- (Outside) Foster’s Crossing Antiques: kids art activities, live music, food & drink, raku pottery demonstration, artist vendors, late-night outdoor movie and more

- Divine Health & Fitness: Yoga Stick Figure Sketching

- Skeleton Key Art Glass: Glass Bauble Bingo

- Studio 524 (photographers Woods Wheatcroft, Chris Guibert & Atom Welch): Collage-a-Trois

- Arts Alliance Studio: Musical Painting

- Redtail Gallery:  Works by Carrie Scozzaro.  Exhibit is for adults only.

- At 9 pm, don't miss the late-night outdoor movie “Little Shop of Horrors”, projected on the side of Foster's Crossing.  Admission is free.  After the movie, the winner of the Big Fat Raffle will be drawn.  Enter to win your custom dream vacation worth $3500, or $1000 cash! Tickets will be for sale at the Solstice Celebration.
