The Algonquin Argonauts are the newest team to join the Pop Warner Organization, the nation's largest and oldest youth football organization, started in 1929. Pop Warner consists of over 7000 tackle and flag football teams through 41 states. Over 240,000 youths participated in Pop Warner sanctioned football programs in 2004, and those numbers are continuing to grow. Pop Warner is also the only national youth sports organization that requires scholastic aptitude to participate.
