Libertyville Elementary School District 70
Libertyville Elementary School District 70 is located in southern Lake County, Illinois, about 35 miles northwest of Chicago. We serve a student population of more than 2700 students. At District 70, we strive to provide a variety of educational opportunities and involvement for the entire community. We offer a comprehensive K-8 curriculum, including language arts, mathematics, science, social science, physical education, art, music, and international languages. The middle school program features grade level teams, elective and exploratory offerings, outdoor education, and many other extracurricular activities. A special program is provided to identify gifted students in the 4th through 8th grade levels. We also provide a full program and wide range of professional services, including guidance counselors, social workers, and psychologists, to assist students with developmental and academic concerns. District 70 is an area leader in utilizing an inclusionary model for delivery of special education services. District 70 strives to meet the entire spectrum of student needs. We take pride in the consistently high level of academic achievement of our students. Our students rank significantly higher than the state averages at all grade levels and in all tested subject areas on the Illinois State Achievement Tests as indicated in the Illinois School Report Card.
