Mission Statement:
Arthur C. Newby Elementary School fosters a climate of achievement. We recognize and expect quality student performance. Respect and responsibility are modeled on a daily basis. Communication and interaction among staff, parents, and community are key elements to our success. The school provides a safe, academically challenging, and caring environment to promote life-long learning skills.

Newby Elementary School is one of four Speedway elementary schools, serve a student population of just over 200 children. At Newby we understand that children learn best when they are happy and when they feel safe. We work daily to promote an environment that is both. Our school has earned the State of Indiana Four Star Status eleven times in the last twelve years. While our main focus is on academics, we strive to help our children become organized, self-sufficient, life-long learners. Finally, while we promote unconditional concern for every student, we believe that a healthy self-esteem is earned by doing our very best.
