Balloon Glow - Races Throughout Weekend

PARSONS, KS  -  It’s without a doubt one of the most festive parts of the Balloons, Bikes, Blues & BBQ Event in Parsons.As the sun sets, spectators are invited to gather at TolenCreekPark (just south of US 59/400 interchange) where 10 or so balloonists will vie for their chance to be the stars of a most spectacular evening - the Balloon Glow.

Friday’s event, is a prelude to the big BBBB weekend. Spectators are invited to come and go after dusk to the Balloon Glow where pilots make their hot air balloons dance in the fall air. This event will take place after dark (WEATHER PERMITTING). To accomplish the glow, balloon pilots ignite their burners simultaneously. This causes the colorful balloons to glow against the rich Kansas skies.

Bring a lawn chair and sit across the Tolen Creek Pond and watch as the gentle giants light up the night sky.

On Saturday, October 18, join us again at TolenCreekPark for the Balloon Launch. Weather permitting, beginning at 7:30 a.m. hot air balloons will race toward an established target for prizes. Another race will be held on Sunday morning.
