The Behringer-Crawford Museum is proud to announce the next installment in the 2008 Music@BCM Concert Series — Bourbon 'n’ Blues featuring Sweet Alice Hoskins and her Unfinished Business Blues Band on Thursday, May 15. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the museum’s intimate Toyota Education Room. Bourbon tasting will be provided by Party Town of Florence while Cosmo’s Grille Pub of Covington will provide food. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for “future members.” RSVPs are requested to the museum at (859) 491-4003 or info@bcmuseum.org.
Born in Tuskegee, Alabama but raised in Cincinnati, Alice learned to sing in the church choir. She has looked to the "greats" of the Blues, taken a little of her technique from them, and truly added her individual style to project an impressive, gutsy sound. She says gospel music has a great influence on the way she sings her songs, stating "What comes from the heart, reaches the heart.” She has won two CAMMY Awards for Best Blues Vocalist.
Other upcoming concerts in the Music@BCM Concert Series include Wine 'n’ Brass featuring the Mount Auburn Brass Fellowship on June 12. The Coffee Cup Concert Series will begin on June 29 with six straight Thursdays of entertainment at the museum’s outdoor amphitheater. Repeat concert-goers receive discounted admission to subsequent performances.
For more information, please contact the museum, (859) 491-4003 or info@bcmuseum.org or visit www.bcmuseum.org.
