About Us
Greenlawn Terrace Elementary is a little school located in north Kenner, Louisiana. After Hurricane Katrina the school has two Pre-K programs, 14 regular education/inclusion classes. Greenlawn was recognized as a "Crown Jewel" school by the Times Picayune newspaper on April 1, 1998. The school was ranked #2 of the top performing Jefferson Parish Schools. The school has had three "Elementary Teachers of the Year" of JPPSS from 1994-97; and the "Elementary Teacher of the Year for the State of Louisiana" in 1997. Greenlawn has two computer labs and computers in every classroom as we move into the 21st Century. Greenlawn Terrace is a fun and happy place to learn. The faculty and staff strive to make academic learning a priority among all children with a focus on teaching the "whole" child. Our motto, "For the Kids", truly reflects the spirit and goals of the school.
