Music For Viols And Friends Series Celebrates 16th Cambridge Season In 2009-2010

Gambist Carol Lewis is featured in the sixteenth Music For Viols & Friends series presented at Lindsay Chapel, First Church (Congregational), 11 Garden Street in Cambridge for the 2009-2010 season. A founding member of Boston's acclaimed viola da gamba trio, Défense de la viole, and member of the Boston Camerata, Duo Maresienne and other Boston-based early music ensembles, Ms. Lewis received her training at New England Conservatory and Schola Cantorum (Basel, Switzerland) where she studied with virtuoso Jordi Savall. With Boston Camerata, Hesperion XX and Capriccio Stravagante, she toured throughout the US, Europe and Asia and recorded for Erato, Nonesuch and other labels.

Visiting Friends include Pamela Dellal, mezzosoprano; Anne Azèma, soprano;  Janet Haas, Paul Johnson, Mai-Lan Broekman & Alice Mroszczyk, viols and Olav Chris Henriksen, lute.
