The Danforth Museum of Art is pleased to present an exhibition of 19 illustrations by fine artist and illustrator Wade Zahares, from the children’s book Lucky Jake, authored by Sharon Hart Addy. The exhibition will be on view in the Children’s Gallery from February 6 - May 18, 2008. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, February 9th, 6-8pm. All are welcome to attend.
The artist will be available during the Sunday, April 6th, First Sunday Drop into Art activities, for a book signing, 2-4pm.
About the exhibit
19 Full color illustrations from Lucky Jake, authored by Sharon Hart Addy. Lucky Jake is published by Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 2007.
“I Love the mood and setting of the book. I did a lot of research on the landscape and the time period of the Gold Rush era, and have used that as the backbone for my unique take on the imagery.” –Wade Zahares.
