As part of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, Fannie Mae&lquote;s limit on conforming loans has been temporarily raised from $417,000 to $729,750, effective in certain high cost metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs). The limits on these new “jumbo-conforming” mortgage loans differ from area to area and have been based on the MSA&lquote;s median home price, with the upper limit capped at $729,750.
