Founded by Jerry Gardner in 1971, the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, a concert band, is currently celebrating its 37th anniversary. The MWS comprises over 70 talented woodwind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists who audition for membership and seating. It makes a significant contribution to the cultural life of the Greater Boston community by providing its audiences with high quality concerts and its members with opportunities for musical growth.  In a typical season, we present 3 indoor concerts at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA, we sponsor and perform in the annual Boston Festival of Bands in Faneuil Hall in Boston on the first Saturday in June, and we perform a number of outdoor summer concerts in Lexington and throughout the Greater Boston area. The latest information about upcoming concerts and about auditioning for membership can be found on our website.
