Brush Art Gallery And Studio
As A Brush With History finishes its twenty-second year, our primary mission remains unchanged since being founded by the Lowell Historical Preservation Commission, U.S. Department of the Interior, in 1982: to nurture the working artist, to keep the visual arts alive and healthy in the heart of Lowell's historic district, and to demonstrate through cultural programming the diverse and rich heritage and talent that exist in the greater Lowell area.
Active artists, both formally trained and self-taught, find a supportive working environment at the Brush. We provide our artists with affordable and accessible studios in which to produce and display their original work
Our six to eight exhibitions a year reflect community interests and contemporary art from national and international talent. The Brush is committed to providing artists with a forum for developing, exhibiting and fostering appreciation for their work. The Brush strives to bring art education and visual arts to the citizens of Massachusetts and to the visitors of the Lowell National Historical Park.
