The Children’s Museum in Easton was selected as the 2008 Parents' Pick for Best Children's Museum in Boston Providence as part of Nickelodeon's Parents Connects inaugural Parents' Picks Awards.

"Nominated among such hotspots as the Children’s Museum in Boston and the Providence, it is a incredible honor to be given this award," said the Children’s Museum in Easton’s executive director Paula Peterson. " This accomplishment was realized through many years of hard work from a large community of supporters and friends."

ParentsConnect published the Parents' Picks winners on July 15.

The Children's Museum in Easton was founded in 1986 by four Easton residents, all mothers of young children in search of hands-on educational experiences for their kids close to home. With overwhelming community support, broad volunteer assistance, and donations from area residents and businesses, the Museum opened in 1991.

Located in the historic Old Fire Station in North Easton, their mission is to help children and families become lifelong learners, using hands-on experience as the key to stimulating curiosity and motivating learning. With 3 floors of interactive exhibits and over 100 programs that allow kids to explore the world around them, the Museum offers something for everyone.

This isn't the first honor for the Children’s Museum in Easton, which was recommended by Visiting NewEngland.com as an ‘underrated hidden gem”. The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism also listed the museum as number twenty-two of “50 places under $50” for families to visit this summer.
