Just a month after their IED 2006 Symposium and Expo, the Lodestar Group, LLC announces SpecOps 2006: Warfighter Symposium & Expo to be held at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville NC, November 13-15, 2006.

The exhibits, demonstrations and workshops are designed to enable attendees to explore emerging technologies and the latest in products and services promoting the war fighting effectiveness, efficiency, adaptability, utility, and mobility of special operations forces. Several panel discussions are planned to showcase the research and development process as well as the partnerships between industry, research and government in getting these new products to the frontlines quickly and efficiently.

“The Lodestar Group philosophy is to create forums that allow participation from every group involved in the symposium focus. We believe when researchers and those from academia have the opportunity to exchange ideas with industry, when industry has the chance to talk to their current or potential clients in military and government, and when soldiers and troops can walk through an expo allowing industry the opportunity to interact with the true end users/operators, everyone benefits,” says Catherine Vilga, Lodestar Group President.

Many of the products previously designed for and distributed to primarily special operations forces are now being distributed to all soldiers deploying overseas, the audience for these types of new products has broadened. The Pentagon also announced in February a plan to add 13,000 more Special Operations forces to meet current demand.

“The types of equipment and technologies that will be displayed are applicable to most warfighters in every branch of the military. State and local law enforcement also have Special Weapons and Tactics units that rely on specialized equipment to allow them to safely and quickly combat threats. This expo is extremely valuable to them as well,” says Julie Broad, exhibits assistant with Lodestar Group. The Expo will be open at no charge to military, government and industry personnel.
