This video may look murky, but is remarkably clear for the Potomac. (See my other video of the U-1105 for a view of underwater conditions that are more routine for this area.) This is a very challenging dive, it's relatively deep at 90 feet, with very strong currents and very low visibility.

This is the Chesapeake Bay getting Rope-a-dope'd a few hours prior to her choking on her own medicine. At any rate, a north wind had chopped up the Bay into a bell-ringer of a bathtub. That was the night the crew got welded together and I learned that I wasn't the only person in the world who sings Gilbert and Sullivan in a Crisis. We were a swarthy crew of four delivering Roper, a 36' dive/research vessel back to her home port of Tall Timbers, MD from her summer vacation in St. Augustine, FL working/slaving for LAMP, the archaeological research group based out of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum. 126.4 hours of continuous diesel music to test your mettle. Yarg.
