Where Reading is a Bridge to Hope

The Dominican Literacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides free one-to-one tutoring for adults in the Detroit area. For over twenty years the Dominican Literacy Center has helped adults in basic reading and writing, English, or math, and the center currently has over 350 students and almost as many volunteer tutors. The Dominican Literacy Center relies on volunteers to give two hours a week to meet with a student; however, no prior tutoring or teaching experience is necessary, and the center will provide all the training and materials necessary.
