Summer Schedule at the Great Lakes Children's Museum

Traverse City,MI---This summer the Great Lakes Children’s Museum is offering a host of activities to keep kids entertained and engaged.

Story Time – Tuesday/Thursday – 11:00 am – Featuring several Michigan authors, this program engages children through appropriate movements, activities or crafts and is ideal for pre-readers and early elementary aged children. Tuesday’s story will be repeated on Thursday. Free with Museum admission.

Listening to the River – Monday – 1:00-3:00 pm – Children will participate in activities to explore rivers, aquatic creatures, landscapes and sounds. Ideal for children ages 5-10 (children under age 5 must be supervised). Free with Museum admission.

Toddler Time – Friday – 10:00-12:00 pm – This program is designed to meet toddlers’ developmental needs and focuses on shape and color recognition, counting, and fine and gross motor skills. Free with Museum admission.

Summer Science – Select Wednesdays – 1:00-3:00 pm – Children can explore science during this workshop, offered on the third Wednesday of each month. July 15th will feature solar science, and August 19th will feature the Japanese art of fish printing known as “gyotaku”. Ideal for children ages 5-10 (children under age 5 must be supervised). A materials fee of $2 applies.
