Chaska High is a school that believes in the value and ability of every student. It is North Central accredited and provides a comprehensive program designed to serve students heading for universities, technical schools or the work place. Approximately 80% of students continue their education after graduation.

Chaska High operates on a block schedule. Students take up to four 90-minute classes each day. The longer class periods condense courses that traditionally run a full year into one semester. This allows students to take more classes and enables teachers to better meet individual learning needs.

Honors classes and advanced placement courses provide additional challenge to those looking for a rigorous preparation program. College-level Advanced Placement classes are offered in areas such as art, English, calculus, biology, physics, chemistry, American government, European history, Spanish, German, statistics, macro-economics and U.S. history.

Expanding business and technology education departments are meeting a growing interest among students. From producing the in-house TV news show "Jumpstart" to creating documents on CAD, students sample a variety of learning experiences designed to help them discover interests for the future.

A Career Center is staffed to help students examine possible colleges and technical programs as they make that next step after graduation. Service learning allows students to apply academic learning to real community issues.

Students choose from a broad array of co-curricular programs including activities such as athletics for boys and girls, drama, academic competition, music and speech. Chaska High is in the Lake Conference and has earned conference championships in recent years in volleyball, girls hockey, boys basketball, and golf. CHS students regularly earn state and conference championships in Quiz Bowl, Knowledge Bowl, and Science Bowl. These academic teams often compete at the national level. The band and vocal music programs consistently earn "Superior" ratings at regional competition.

Many student organizations offer opportunities to develop leadership skills as well as serve the community. These organizations include Student Council, Key Club, Youth Commission, DECA, POWZA and lots more.
