Vision :
All Saints Episcopal Church recognizes God's presence in all people and creation. We seek to provide and sustain a community of love to assist each other in our journey through life. We gather as a community of all ages to praise God, hear the word and share the feast, to educate and seek spiritual growth and to receive forgiveness and healing. We go forth in peace to love and serve as Christ loves us.
History :
All Saints Church was born in 1856 when a small group of Episcopal women, many recently settled from upstate New York in the new town of Northfield, formed the Ladies Social Circle "for the benefit of the Episcopal church." Through their efforts, the new parish was officially organized on All Saints Day 1858. The parish raised the funds to build the "rural gothic" church building designed by Rector Solomon Burleson using plans from Richard Upjohn's Rural Architecture.
The building was dedicated in 1867 with the steeple added in 1879. in the almost one and a half centuries since the parish was founded, All Saints has evolved along with the city of Northfield, the growth of its two colleges and the Episcopal Church.
