Mission And History:

The Theatre's mission is to enrich our community by producing and presenting exceptional live theatre that touches the heart, engages the mind and delights the spirit.

Park Square is a mid-sized professional theatre producing both contemporary and classic works for the stage. Founded in 1974 as an 88-seat walk-up in a former Saint Paul warehouse, today, Park Square is seen as one of the area's leading cultural institutions and a key contributor to the recent revitalization of downtown Saint Paul. In its elegant, newly remodeled theatrical venue in the historic Hamm Building, surrounded by new bistros and night life, Park Square offers a uniquely inviting theatrical experience in the Twin Cities.

In a year-round schedule, the theatre serves both schools and general audiences, often on the same day. In 2004, The Diary of Anne Frank and Of Mice and Men had over 70 daytime performances, while Family Values, Pacific Overtures and Proof were entertaining evening and weekend audiences.

Park Square Theatre operates under a Small Professional Theatre Agreement with Actors' Equity Association, the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States.
