Ten individuals were recently named Pride of Pattonville Award winners for going above and beyond the call of duty in their service to Pattonville children. They will be recognized during Pattonville’s District Appreciation Night.

This year's Pride of Pattonville honorees are:

- John Kern, Pattonville High School English/journalism teacher
- Al Rosen, OASIS tutor/volunteer at Rose Acres Elementary
- Jane Stokes, Pattonville Heights Middle School English Language Learner teacher
- Bob Dillon, school board secretary
- Jennifer Bober, Willow Brook Elementary library media specialist
- Judy Radin, Bridgeway Elementary paraprofessional
- Kathleen Zust, Drummond Elementary school counselor
- Phyllis Whitten, Willow Brook Elementary executive secretary
- Angela McCormick, parent volunteer at Rose Acres Elementary
- Dr. Paul Markovits, Pattonville instructional coordinator for math and science

Pattonville health/safety fair set for June 8

Pattonville’s early childhood program is hosting its annual “Summer Safety and Health Fair” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, June 8 at the Pattonville Learning Center, 11097 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann.

The event will feature the Children’s Hospital Healthy Kid Express Van for free immunizations, Delta Dental Theatrical Show, Buckle Bear, Pattonville fire truck and dog, St. Louis County Police helicopter landing and safety ID kits. Attendees can take advantage of free immunizations, but a guardian and current shot record are required. Participants can also purchase a bike helmet for $8 and get a free helmet fitting. Pre-registration is required for the bike helmets by calling 314-454-5437 in advance.

Pattonville High School names "Most Valuable Pirates"

Faculty members at Pattonville High School recently presented their MVP (Most Valuable Pirate) Awards to more than 130 students in grade nine through 12. Each staff member selected one outstanding student to receive an MVP medallion award during a special awards ceremony at the school. The program was sponsored by the school’s Renaissance program, which encourages a commitment to academic excellence based upon recognition of academic performance, attendance and citizenship.

Three students received their third MVP Award during the recent ceremony: Joe Bruck, Shannon Flanakin and Stephanie Liput.  Eighteen students were recognized with a second MVP award.  They were: Travis Barber, Krystal Carpenter, Brian Clark, Justin Corcoran, Lyndsey Cox, Steven Dashley, Blake Engels, Riham Jaber, Dana Kimzey, Sabrina Layman, Rachel Marx, Emily McDaniel, Abigail Orlando, Jeremy Partl, Brad Ridings, Ana Karen Solorio, DJ Thomas, Jessica Wokovich and Kaifwafi Youssef.

Pattonville offers summer camps

The Pattonville School District will hold a number of summer camps in June.  A variety of classes will be offered for children of all ages.  Classes will be held at Drummond Elementary, 3721 St. Bridget Lane in St. Ann. Parents must provide their own transportation for these fee-based programs.

The following classes are available: Drama Camp, Golf Enrichment Camp, Young Rembrandts Drawing and Cartooning Camp, Grade School Musical, Hip Hop Dance, Soccer Camp, Baton Camp, Pom Pon Camp, Dance and Cheer Camp and Mad Science- NASA Journey.
