Young Navajo men were recruited from government boarding schools to serve in the U.S. Marines during World War II. From 1942-1945, they devised an unbreakable code in their native language and transmitted vital messages to military forces in the Pacific. True Whispers is a moving testament to these forgotten heroes and their wartime contributions.
