FCPC was established on August 4, 1849 as the Olney Presbyterian Church, at a location about three miles north of the present community. In 1854, the congregation moved to the village of French Camp, a location which was more central to the membership. The congregation worshipped in a building used by all denominations.

The name of the church was changed from Olney Presbyterian Church to French Camp Presbyterian Church in 1869. In 1874, the Presbyterians built their own church building. The exact location is unknown due to destruction of all land deeds when the Choctaw Count Court House in Ackerman burned down.

The church moved to its present location in 1910. The annex was added in 1958 to house Sunday School classrooms. In 1989, both buildings underwent major renovations with money raised in honor of Rev. Sam Patterson, president of French Camp Academy from 1950 – 1967. The last worship service before the renovation was held on Easter Sunday of 1989. The congregation met in FCA’s auditorium for worship from April to November of that year. During the intervening months, the church building was jacked up, a new foundation was put under it, and the building was restored and enlarged. Seating capacity went from a tight 200 to 350 comfortably. A kitchen/fellowship hall was built between the church and annex, creating one building out of two. The building was reopened for worship on Sunday, November 19, 1989.
