The History of Intermountain's Festival of Trees

A Tradition Continues

The Festival of Trees has raised more than $1.4 Million over the last 20 years for the mission of Intermountain, "Healing Through Healthy Relationships". From its humble beginnings with a few trees that netted $5,000 in 1988, to the record of $227,000 in 2006.

A Tradition of Giving
The generosity of the Helena community has made Festival of Trees bigger and brighter every year. Thirty trees, vacation packages, and a few specialty items are auctioned each year. The record sale price for one tree sale is $16,200! Sponsors have continued to support the event so that revenue goes directly to support the event so that revenue goes directly to the children's needs. So many people respond to the needs of children with their time, treasures, and talent. We are blessed and thankful for each and every one.

Silent Auction areas include Dolls on Parade, Table Top Trees and Winterland Wreaths. An added part of Festival of Trees is Funland, which is bright with children's activities. The weekend is highlighted with live entertainment in the ballroom provided by talented local groups.

A Tradition of Caring

Financial contributions are not all the Festival of Trees gives to Intermountain. The many volunteers involved in the Festival of Trees also participate in the true spirit of caring. The Festival of Trees volunteer force is comprised on a 40+ member steering committee. More than 500 volunteers help to produce the Festival of Trees, many working throughout the year.
