Polson sits in the heart of the Flathead Indian Reservation. The Presbyterian Church was already in existence in 1910 when the reservation was opened to homesteading and Polson was incorporated. The congregation met in many places including the Methodist Church, Gabb Hall (now the I.O.O.F Hall), Latimer Hall and the old stone school house.

In 1912 land was purchased for a church and construction was started in May of 1915. The first worship service in the new building was held in October of that same year. The congregation's first full time Pastor was the Rev. George W. White.  He was instrumental in starting the church and served until 1917 when he left to move to Michigan. Between 1929 and 1947,  the church became the "Federated Church". It was a cooperative effort between the Presbyterian and the Northern Baptist congregations. The congregation continued to grow and flourish. In 1960 the Christian Education Wing was added to the church. 1983 saw the construction of the fellowship Hall. In 1997 the entire sanctuary was remodeled. e building has changed and people have come and gone, but the spirit of the church remains the same, to worship and serve our Lord, Jesus Christ.
