Early Christmas from Angel of Hope

From: Angel of Hope - Hickory, NC

Miss Patricia Scott and her eleven year old daughter were hoping for a helping hand from the local organizations. She said she tried CCM, Habitat, and other organizations, one by one she was turned down for assistance. Coming out of a battered women’s shelter she had a place, but no furnishings. Then she called the Angel of Hope Thrift Store. Mary Long, the store's manager, told the CEO, Owen Shoup, who got the whole staff working on a solution to the problem. Along with Morningstar, Mini-Storage moving truck, we were able to make all this happen. Owen said that is what we are here for. To help the community in the best way we can. We had some of what she needed in our store and were happy to give them to her. A living room suite, kitchen table and chairs and other house hold items, as well as, a small Christmas tree with decorations. Miss Scott was excited and grateful for what we gave her. We have these things to help those in need. Just as we are in need for help with the bills and every day feminine needs. The funds from the Angel of Hope Thrift Store go to support the Angel of Hope House, for women.
