Childbirth Preparation Class

This class is designed to prepare couples for the childbirth experience. Through practice of breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, and knowledge of how the baby proceeds through the birth canal, couples can feel more secure and prepared for one of the most memorable events of their lives.

The following topics will be covered:

The labor process.
How your partner can help during labor.
Film on childbirth.
Medication and anesthesia.
Discussion on variations of labor.
How to prepare for the birth experience.
How your newborn will look and act.
You and your baby in the hospital.
Practice time for breathing and relaxation.
Question and answer time.

Bring two bed pillows to this class, as you will use them when you practice your breathing and relaxation techniques. Pre-registration is required. This is in an interactive class, so class size is limited.

Location: Altru Hospital, Lower Level, Room A

Cost: $10.00 fee to register for all the Altru’s prenatal classes.
