2022 New Early Voting Information

Government and Politics

July 21, 2022

From: Town Of Westminster

Early Voting by Mail has now been signed into law for all state elections, state primaries and presidential primaries as well as local elections by our State Legislature.

This permanent change in legislation allows all voters to cast their ballots by mail through Early Voting if you do not wish to vote in person at the polls.

State Elections will once again be mailing a Vote By Mail Application to every registered voter that has not yet requested one.  If you don't receive one, you may  click the link below for a 2022 Early Voting Ballot by Mail Application.  You may return the application to the Town Clerk by mail, drop box at the front door of Town Hall, fax to us at 978-874-7411 or scan the completed application to [email protected].  Once we receive your signed application, we will then mail you an Early Voting ballot.  The Early Voting ballot must be returned to this office before the close of polls on September 6th.

Click here for an application to receive a ballot by mail and for more information on Voting by Mail and Absentee Voting.  You can also contact our office if you need us to mail you an application.

Absentee Ballots will be available in the Town Clerk's Office for all registered voters who will not be in town on the day of the election.  Click the link above for an absentee ballot application.  The last day to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you is August 29th.  However, you may vote (absentee) in the office up until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2nd.

Once we receive ballots in the office, we will update the website and place a sample ballot online to review.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6th, at the Westminster Senior Center, 69 West Main Street.  Please note the change in the polling location.

Any questions, please call the office at 978-874-7406 or email [email protected].

Thank you!

Last day for new voter registration or to change party enrollment is now 10 days before an election.  For the primary, the last day for voter registration is Saturday, August 27th, up until 5:00 p.m. or online at www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR
