Design a Bookmark Contest

Use your imagination to design an original bookmark for this year's summer reading program. The theme will be Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Pick up an entry form at the library, or download one from the library’s website by clicking on the image. Design the bookmark on the entry form and return it in person or by mail for a chance to have your design chosen as the bookmark of the summer for your age group.

Winners will be announced at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on Saturday, June 25.

Week of May 9
Book Bundles

Enjoy story time at home! Book Bundles include books handpicked by our children’s librarians, along with a list of suggested songs and activities to do with your little one. Pick up is available all week. Stop by the children’s room, or call the library at 860-395-3184 to request curbside services. Free and open to all.

Baby Time

Story time just for babies! Babies from 0 - 24 months are welcome to join Miss Emily for stories, fingerplays, bounces and so much more. Please dress accordingly, as this event will be held outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in the large meeting room.

Rise & Shine Story Time

Children ages 2 and up are invited to join Miss Chloe and Miss Emily for a fun interactive Preschool story time with songs, picture books, puppets and more! Please dress accordingly, as this event will be held outdoors.
In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in the large meeting room.

ALL AGES - Walking Group

Join Cindy for a 45 min. walk around the neighborhood near the library.  Please wear comfortable shoes.

Free and open to all.

Registration is suggested and is available one month prior to the event.

DIY Origami

Pick up a DIY Origami kit with everything you need, and learn to fold paper like a pro. Stop by the Children’s room, or request curbside pickup. Available while supplies last. Free and open to all. No registration necessary.

STEM-2-GO

Looking for fun activities to do at home? This kit will contain some science supplies, a simple experiment and suggested additional experiments to do at home. Stop by the Children’s room, or request curbside pickup. Available while supplies last. Free and open to all. No registration necessary

Game On!

Come to the library to test your gaming skills. Challenge a librarian to a video game or board game and see if you can come out the winner.

ALL AGES - Read with Me

Stop by the library for a chance to read to a therapy dog! Families are welcome to read to either Henry, the Bernese Mountain dog, or Toby, the Labradoodle. Time slots are limited to 15 minutes per family and available on a first come, first served basis. Registration is not required.

ALL AGES - Pen Pal

Sign up to be a Pen-Pal and we will match you with another Pen-Pal.  Bring in or mail us your letter.  We will let you know when you have mail!  

Pen-Pal starter kits are available with registration.

Free and open to all.

ALL AGES - Community Seed Library

Acton Public Library is pleased to announce the creation of a community seed library. The seed library will be a way for the community to learn about growing flowers, herbs and vegetables from a variety of seeds that have been generously donated by High Mowing Organic Seeds, Territorial Seed Company, Burpee Seed and Park Seeds. Seeds can be reserved starting March 1st. Patrons will have the opportunity to choose up to five different seed packets this season. First come – first serve.
