Wellness + Spiritual nourishment from Black creatives

We turn to Black History Month to reflect on the past while dreaming of the future. So many of us forget to care for ourselves in the present, overlooking the spiritual compass inside. How can empower ourselves to blossom in an often-unforgiving world? What does mental health and spiritual wellness look and feel like? On 2/18, the Anacostia Arts Center will host Afro House: Spirit Fest from noon to 6 PM. The day long festival will include live performances from local creatives , a creative marketplace, and a wellness roundtable.

3:30 PM: Sound Bath Smudging
Sound Bath Meditation with Harp: Join musical artist, Born I, for a one of a kind sound bath in our Black Box Theater.

2 PM: Workshop Mental
Smudge Stick Workshop—What it smudging? Why did our ancestors use them? Join Blk Flower Market's Kehmari Norman for a smudge stick creation workshop where you'll learn about the history and spiritual benefits of smudging.
