3rd on 3rd Lecture

Friday, October 21, at 6pm

William Bartram visited Amelia Island in April of 1774 on his epic adventure through the southeast resulting in America’s first literary masterpiece - TRAVELS. His host was Stephen Egan who guided Bartram around the island. Bartram’s description of his visit to the island is still relevant to Amelia Island’s unique character and nature. Bartram literally introduced Amelia Island to the world. The effort to establish the Bartram Trail in Nassau County will also be discussed. Carr is the President of the Bartram Trail Society of Florida.

Attendance is free for museum members with a suggested donation of $5 for nonmembers. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
