James, as Blood Advocacy Week continues, we want to make sure you don’t miss the chance to explore a blood donation’s journey from donation to transfusion.
The need for lifesaving blood is constant. But unfortunately, only about 3% of eligible people donate blood. Every donation helps someone in need — so will you please commit to giving blood today?
And if you’re unable to give blood, that’s okay! By making a financial donation in honor of Blood Advocacy Week, you can help provide the resources we need to operate donation centers, process donations, transport blood and more.
Thank you for helping to provide lifesaving blood to those who need it.

James,
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Whether it’s for surgery, cancer treatment, a chronic illness or traumatic injury, donated blood makes a lifesaving difference for countless patients across the country.
But did you know that the American Red Cross supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood supply — all thanks to generous blood donors like you?
In honor of Blood Advocacy Week, we’re showing you how your blood donation reaches someone in need. That’s why we’ve put together this click-through Blood Journey for you to explore.
Will you take a moment to see how your blood makes its way from donation, through the laboratory and to a patient who urgently needs it?
