Annual Homecoming 5K race to take place on Sunday, Aug. 6
The race is part of a fun, themed series of races in partnership with Trivium Racing

DEARBORN, MI – Seven years ago, planners of the Dearborn Homecoming festival added a new feature for those interested in a family-friendly, fun and healthy activity. A 5k race – or completing 3.1 miles – was added to the roster of things to do. This year, the race will take place on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 8 a.m. at Ford Field Park.

The Dearborn Homecoming 5K will partner with Trivium Racing as part of a larger circuit of 5K races that will give participants the opportunity to collect six finisher medals that will link together to create one large medal as part of the Trivium Michigan Mega Medal.

While some of the initial races have already occurred, it’s not too late to sign up for the “Dearborn Decades” 5K at Homecoming, which will celebrate the Swinging 60’s.

“Dearborn Decades” is a certified USATF (United States of America Track and Field) course, which means runners will have the ability to qualify for other races with the results.

Prices range from $43 for a race that includes a t-shirt and medal, an economy package at $30 for just the race, and a virtual race that can be registered for until Aug. 4.

Interested runners should register now as there are only about 180 spots left. Registration and further information about the other races that comprise this group of 5K’s can be found at runsignup.com/Race/MI/Dearborn/DearbornHomecoming5k

Parking for participants is available at the baseball fields at the corner of Brady and Monroe St. Click here for a map of the location.
