“Janice Jackson”

Janice Jackson's unique talent as an oil painter lies in her ability to capture the essence of the coastal area in her artwork. Through the use of oil paints, she adds texture and depth to each piece, creating a lifelike representation of the surrounding environment.

Her paintings often depict the coastal beach, with its vibrant colors and picturesque scenery.

In addition to the coastal landscape, Janice incorporates elements of the surrounding wildlife. Birds soaring through the sky, fishermen casting their lines, and other fishing activities are expertly integrated into her paintings, adding a sense of movement and life.

What sets Janice's paintings apart is her original and creative use of colors. She carefully selects a palette that beautifully captures the vivid hues of the coastal area, from the golden tones of the beach to the blues and greens of the ocean. Her color choices enhance the overall atmosphere of her paintings, evoking feelings of tranquility and awe. Janice’s black and white paintings are beautiful!

Want to get more involved with the art center?

Here are some steps you can take to get more involved with the Port Aransas Art Center:

1 Become a member: Consider becoming a single or family member by paying the annual fee of $45 or $75. This will not only support the operations of the art center but also give you access to member benefits such as discounts on classes.

2. Donate: If you don't want to become a member, you can still make a donation to support the educational events and classes, as well as the phase 2 expansion and operations of the art center. Simply walk into the art center and make a donation.

3. Join the "Catch the Wave" campaign: The art center has a specific fundraising campaign called "Catch the Wave" which you can join. This campaign could help with operations and our phase 2 expansion. Stay updated on the art center's website or social media to learn about such campaigns.

4. Participate in fundraising events: The art center may organize several events throughout the year to raise funds. These events can be a great way to get involved. Attend these events, volunteer, or consider taking part in fundraisers to support the art center.

5. Spread the word: This is probably one of the easiest ways to help the art center.  Share our social media post, tell friends and family about our fundraising events.
