Dog Tales Storytime

Monday, August 7 at 10:00 am

Muri and her human Cheryl will be visiting the BFL for a fun and furry storytime! Join us for dog-approved stories and a chance to pet this calm, sweet, and soft therapy dog. Weather permitting, this program will be held outside on the library lawn, so bring a blanket or chair. If it is rainy or less than 55 degrees, the storytime will be moved indoors.

Story Time

Tuesdays at 10:00 am

Join us on the Bacon Free Library lawn for stories, songs, and rhymes. Bring along a blanket to get comfy. We are looking forward to seeing you! Note: if the weather is wet or below 55 degrees, we’ll move this story time indoors.

Mindfulness for Kids

Tuesday, August 8 at 4:00 pm

Families will create mindful moments together in this outdoor workshop with Traci McCubbin from The Mindful Squirrel. Traci shares, “At The Mindful Squirrel we believe that mindfulness is for everyone at all times of day and in all environments. We support all ages in developing a mindful practice that evokes a sense of gratitude, acceptance, joy, play, and peace.” This program is geared toward children ages 4-10 with a parent/caregiver. We will meet outside on the library lawn, or inside if it rains. Registration is required. Please visit our website to register for each child attending.

Jammin With You

Wednesday, August 9 at 10:30 am

Be prepared to laugh, dance, sing, and jam your way through 30 minutes of non-stop family fun on the library lawn! This performance is geared toward kids ages 1–7, but fun for the whole family. If the weather is wet or below 55 degrees, we’ll move indoors and space will be available on a first come, first served basis. Bring your own simple instruments if you can! Sponsored by Middlesex Savings Bank.

We will be closed on Saturdays in June, July, and August.

Our Band Concert

Tuesday, August 15 at 5:30 pm

Grab a blanket or chair and some snacks and join us on the lawn for a concert with Our Band, as Sasha Papernik and Justin Poindexter bring their award-winning songwriting and bold interpretations to a rich Americana soundscape. With their airtight harmonies, irreverent humor, and astounding instrumental virtuosity, the pair’s restless creativity knows no bounds. Learn more on our website.

Messy Play Time

Wednesday, August 16 at 10:30 am

Join us outdoors for some messy, creative fun! Explore simple, open-ended projects like making oobleck, experimenting with baking soda and vinegar, or fingerpainting with shaving cream. Geared toward ages 1-6 with adult supervision. Remember to wear clothes and shoes that can get messy! If it rains, we’ll offer a less-messy craft indoors and save the messy projects for another day.
