ABC Storytime

Tuesdays at 10:00 am outdoors & indoors
Here’s a chance for the little ones to learn their A-B-C’s. We’ll start outside with stories and songs that feature our letter of the week. Then we’ll head inside for some simple crafts with the special letter. Feel free to join for part or all of the story time. Be sure to bring a blanket or chair for outside. Also, each child can bring something with them that starts with the letter of the week – we’ll do a mini show & tell along with stories. This week's letter is F.

Jammin With You

Wednesday, October 12 at 10:00 am outdoors

Be prepared to laugh, dance, sing, and jam your way through 30 minutes of non-stop family fun! This performance is geared for kids ages 1–7, but fun for the whole family. With modern takes on children’s classics and classic original tunes, you’ll be humming and bopping your way all the way home! If it is 60 degrees or warmer, this program will be held outside on the library lawn so bring a blanket or chair. If it is rainy or less than 60 degrees, this program will be moved indoors.

Natick Community Senior Center event: 13 Moons, 12,000 Years: Wampanoag History presented by Plimoth Patuxet Museum

Wednesday, October 12 at 1:30 pm on Zoom

Join Timothy Turner, Associate Director of Indigenous Education at Plimoth Patuxet Museums for a live unique conversation that explores 12,000 years of Wampanoag history and how communities past and present have adapted and sustained their seasonal, 13-moon lifecycles amid changing natural, social, and political landscapes. Timothy Turner is from the Cherokee Nation and in 2017, Tim was honored with the Hornblower Award for outstanding contribution to the spirit of Plimoth Patuxet's founder, Henry Hornblower II. Please call Natick Community Senior Center at 508-647-6540 to register for this free event.

History Book Club

Thursday, October 13 at 11:00 am on Zoom

Join us for a virtual discussion of On Her Own Ground by A'Lelia Bundles. Copies of the book available at the library. Please email [email protected] to register and receive the Zoom link.

Ask a Muslim Anything

Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 am at the library

Join us for coffee and one-on-one conversation with Robert Azzi. He has been traveling throughout the Northeast and beyond at the invitation of local communities to speak about his life and what it’s like to be Muslim in America, how he came to convert to Islam and about the religion of Islam and its history – especially in America – and about the Middle East, terrorism and associated political and social issues. Nothing is off the table except rudeness and disrespect.

Monkey Business
We are looking for several like-new or gently-used stuffed monkeys for the BFL entry into the Elm Bank Festival of Trees. We are representing the book Caps for Sale: A Tale of a Peddler, Some Monkeys and Their Monkey Business by Esphyr Slobodkina. Please bring monkeys into the library at your convenience. Thanks in advance. Also looking for the game Barrel of Monkeys for the same. If you have this game and are willing to part with it, we would love to have it.
