FUN FOR ADULTS

Italian Conversation Circle

Saturday, January 14 and 28 at 10:00 a.m.

Join other Italian speakers in the community for an opportunity to speak Italian exclusively for two hours!

Stress Reduction and Relaxation Yoga with Carol McGuiggan

Wednesday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m. 
Experience the benefits of gentle yoga stretches, calming breath techniques, and meditation. Dress for movement. Bring a yoga mat or thick towel. Space is limited.

Book Discussion Group 
Thursday, January 19 at 12:30 p.m.

Join us to discuss The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk one month prior to the discussion.

Mindful Meditation with Carol McGuiggan
Wednesday, January 25 at 6:30 p.m.

This class is open to individuals wishing to develop inner awareness, health, and well-being. The practice will include techniques to improve concentration, clarity of mind, relaxation, and promote self-awareness. Bring a yoga mat or sitting cushion and a receptive attitude. Space is limited.

Puzzle Swap!
Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Are you a puzzle aficionado in need of new puzzles? Bring some of your previously loved puzzles to the Library to swap with other puzzle lovers.

Nonfiction Book Discussion Group

Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m.
Join us to discuss The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson. Copies of the books will be available one month prior to the meeting date.

Adults and Teens can experience 'All the Feels' during this winter reading challenge! During the month of January, learn about emojis, explore the importance of emotions, and discover fun activities to express yourself fully. Earn fun emoji-themed badges for logging your reading and completing activities. If readers log more than 250 minutes during this reading challenge, they will be entered into an end-of-challenge drawing! A prize will be awarded to both a teen and adult reader. Glorious Garlands
Ongoing Throughout the Winter
Help decorate the Teen Space! Next time you are in the Library, decorate a piece of paper with the provided materials. Your unique piece will be added to a garland that will be strung in the space for all to enjoy.

Paper Snowflakes
Wednesday, January 4 at 6:00 p.m.
Learn how to make a three dimensional snowflake using only a handful of simple materials to add an element of wintry wonder to any indoor space.

Settlers of Catan

Saturday, January 7 at 12:00 p.m. 

Join other teens at the Library to play Settlers of Catan, a board game about settling a new world, harvesting resources, trading with other players and attempting to create the largest kingdom. Game play requires approximately 2 hours.

Manga and Anime Club for Teens

Tuesday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m.

Do you like to watch anime or enjoy reading manga? Join other enthusiasts at the Library to watch anime, chat about your favorite manga, and create related projects. 

Mug Meals with Julie on Zoom
Tuesday, January 24 at 6:00 p.m.

Join us on Zoom for a live cooking program with Julie. During this 30-minute class, learn how to make a delicious meal in a mug! January will feature a pizza recipe. Participants will receive the ingredient list ahead of time so that they can prepare to cook alongside Julie.

Chapters and Chipper Chatter
Thursday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m.

A book discussion group for those readers transitioning be(TWEEN) the children’s collection and young adult collection. Join Miss Sue and Jessica for an afternoon to read and discuss the first chapter of a fun, lighthearted young adult book. Copies of the book will be available to borrow so participants can finish the selected title at home.

Fox Felting Workshop
Wednesday, February 15 at 4:00 p.m.

Learn how to create a fox using the items included in our felting kits. Email [email protected] no later than February 1 to participate in this program. Each participant will be asked to contribute $5 towards the cost of kits. The Friends of the Beaman Library will sponsor the remainder of the cost.

Gaming Tournament
Friday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m.

Arteca's Karate Class

Interested in learning more about karate? Master Jared from Arteca’s Karate Academy will be here to give you a free class. Learn self-discipline, get exercise, and make friends by participating! PJ Drive Kick-Off Program:
Llama Llama Red Pajama Craft and Stories!

Pokémon Club
Third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. Join your friends to swap, trade, play, and talk about everything Pokémon. Please email [email protected] with 'Pokémon' in the subject line and we will send you a reminder email before the program each month!

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

Books and Blankies on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
This is an early literacy program that runs in 6-week sessions during the school year. We have books, lap bounces, instrument play, parachute fun, and bubbles! For children ages 18 months to 3 years. Registration is required for entire session.

Virtual Story Time on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m.
Hear some fun stories on Beaman Library's private YouTube page that will keep your kids entertained while you prepare dinner! Contact the Library for access information.

Mother Goose with Ms. Sandie on Thursdays at 10:15 a.m.
This 6-week gentle literacy program is for the youngest patrons. There will be songs, stories, simple sign language, parenting tips, lap bounces, etc. For children between the ages of birth and 18 months. Registration is required for entire session.

Books and Blankies Senior on Thursdays at 11:15 a.m.
Have a little fun prepping for your future kindergarten year by joining us for some songs, stories, crafts, and literacy skills. This program runs in 6-week sessions. For children 4 to 5 years of age. Registration is required for entire session.

Friday First Chapters on Fridays at 4:00 p.m.
Hear the first chapters of two early reader chapter books and two advanced reader chapter books on Beaman Library's Children's Room Facebook page. Then you can come into the Library to check them out if you wish!

Drop-In Story Time on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m.
Enjoy a drop-in story time at the Library with movement songs and fun stories!

National Houseplant Appreciation Day 
Tuesday, January 10, All Day

Learn about houseplants, participate in a houseplant swap (bring your cuttings), create your own pot, and leave with a plant! Email [email protected] with 'Plant' in the subject line to register. Thank you to Jerry’s Hardware for donating seeds for this program!
