Guild of Berkshire Artists Presents:

The daughter of two social activists, Jaye Alison Moscariello has seldom been just about painting a pretty picture, although that’s often the end result. - She executes works in varied media including watercolor, acrylic, gouache, latex and graphite. An active, constantly questioning/observing mind is evidenced in her rapid brushstrokes. “I feel as if I must paint quickly to beat time and to bear witness to the fragility of a rapidly vanishing landscape. I’m in a race to honor and interpret the world around me before it’s all gone!”

Moscariello’s artistic training began at Paier College of Art and continued at the Art Students League, UCLA, Santa Monica College, and Mendocino College. She earned her Masters of Fine Art at TransArt Institute/Plymouth University.

Her art has appeared in print, on television and in film and been exhibited here in the States and abroad. An artistic home she helped create was a popular destination on the Open House New York tour (NYC) for a decade. Her film “From the Ashes” received a number of awards and was shown last year at the Sandisfield Arts Center.

“When I first came to West Stockbridge in the late sixties, I felt welcomed by the warm people and the open landscape. I always hoped I’d be able to return one day, and plant roots.” And now she has. She and her husband, composer/farmer Bill Taylor, who is the pianist for the West Stockbridge Village Congregational Church, live close by on their Floodgate Farm in Sandisfield, MA. The couple take their seasonal produce to the West Stockbridge Farmers Market on Thursdays.

She is happy to be a new member of the Berkshire Artists Guild and to exhibit work at Art on Main Gallery in West Stockbridge.
