From: Bethesda Lutheran ChurchDear Choir,
I hope that you’ve had a lovely summer. As you’ve hopefully seen in Bethesda’s e-news the last few weeks, choir rehearsals will be resuming next Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Campanius Room! I’ll have some refreshments to enjoy.
We’ll be rehearsing materials looking further into the season — namely, J. S. Bach’s cantata Allein zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ, BWV 33 and other works for the Reformation Concert. Here’s an English translation for the cantata and a choral score.
Choir will sing on Sunday, Sept. 4. I realize some folks will have vacation plans, but we'll be doing a very simple anthem — Take Up Your Cross. Here’s a PDF and a recording.
Masking will be encouraged but optional at rehearsals, following the church’s current policies.
Looking forward to kicking off a new year!
Best,
Stephen
