Summer Activities

Summer is here are there are tons of activities happening throughout Buckeye in the Community Services department. Be sure to check out the Summer edition of the Eye on Buckeye featuring programs, classes and special events coming this summer.

May is Water Safety Month
 
May is Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Month! One of the best ways to be safe around water is to learn to swim.

Swim lessons are beginning as early as May 22. Sessions are filling up fast, so secure your swim lessons today. Find swim lessons registration here.

Volunteers Needed

Join us by giving back to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Volunteers are needed to place over 700 flags at the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery (23100 W Broadway Rd.) in preparation for the annual Memorial Day Ceremony.

Volunteers are invited to come to the cemetery on Saturday, May 20th at 6 a.m. to install flags.

Volunteers are also needed at 6 a.m. on May 30th to remove the flags.

Be sure to attend the free Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29th at 8 a.m.

Bring in the New
 
Skyline Park is getting a much needed facelift on the road and parking areas. New pavement is being installed from May to mid-June. The park will still be open for use, but please be cautious of parking area closures.

Lower Parking Lot - 5/1 to 5/5
Central Parking Lot - 5/8 to 5/12
Upper Gravel Parking Lot - 5/15 to 5/26
Upper Main Parking Lot - 5/30 to 6/7
Upper Campsite Road and Turnouts - 6/8 to 6/16

The campground will be closed May 1 through June 18, but ramadas will be available.
