Weaving Together the Arts in Spartanburg

We hope you enjoy reading about the incredible joy and talent within our creative community and all the ways you can connect with and strengthen the cultural fabric of Spartanburg. A nod to the historic mills of Spartanburg "The Weave" also serves as a visual reminder of the strength achieved through collaboration. Arts and culture are woven into the history of this community, making it a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

Through collaboration, weaving together artists, our funded partner organizations, and you – our friends and supporters – we can continue to strengthen the cultural fabric of Spartanburg.

Catch up on what's been happening with Chapman Cultural Center and the impact we've had on Spartanburg this year!

Our heart goes out to Spartanburg’s Creative community as we’ve lost a trailblazing and inspiring Creative in our friend, Sandy Staggs. Sandy was the founder of South Carolina’s first LGBTQ+ theatre non-profit and a visionary who brought joy and inclusion for all in the Upstate. You will be missed dearly.

Read more about his work and the legacy he leaves behind too soon in Proud Mary Theatre Company.
