City Of Chino Hills News City Council Nomination Period Now Open

The General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the election of three City Council members for full terms of four years each, one each from Districts 1, 2, and 4. The nomination period for offices participating in the November 8 Election opened on Monday, July 18, 2022. The nomination period ends at 4:30 pm on Friday, August 12, and may be extended to Wednesday, August 17, for contests in which an eligible incumbent officeholder does not file. 

The General Municipal Election will fill the following three seats on the Chino Hills City Council:

City Council Member representing District 1 for a full term of four years.

City Council Member representing District 2 for a full term of four years.

City Council member representing District 4 for a full term of four years. 

To be eligible to hold office as a City Council Member, a person must be at least 18 years old and a registered voter residing within the boundaries of the district they seek to represent at the time the nomination papers are issued. Residents may identify the district in which they reside in by visiting www.chinohills.org/FindYourDistrict and entering their address. 

All forms required for nomination and election to the City Council in the City of Chino Hills are furnished by and filed with the City Clerk. Persons considering filing to become a candidate are required to make an appointment with the City Clerk to obtain the nomination papers, review the filing requirements, and ask questions about the process. 

Appointments can be made in person by visiting the City Clerk’s office, located on the second floor of the City Hall at 14000 City Center Drive, or by contacting the City Clerk by email at [email protected] or by phone at (909) 364-2624. The office hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday.
