City Of Chino Hills News: Trash Services Credit on December Utility Bills

Government and Politics

November 30, 2022

From: City Of Chino Hills

In December 2021, a majority of City of Chino Hills residential trash service customers experienced at least one missed trash pickup from their homes by the City’s then-contracted trash hauler, Republic Services. The missed service was the result of a union-sanctioned work stoppage due to labor negotiations. The City does not have the expectation that residents should pay a City contractor for services they did not receive.

To rectify this situation, the City will be providing a one-time trash service credit in the amount of $5.39. This trash service credit will appear on your December City of Chino Hills Utility Bill under the list of current charges as shown below. It will NOT appear on your Waste Management bill. This amount is equal to one week of the trash services component of the total residential rate of $21.54 at the time of the work stoppage.

If you are a current water utility customer, you do not need to do anything differently. The credit will be automatically applied to your upcoming December City of Chino Hills Utility Bill. If you are a previous customer who had an active account during the suspension and no longer receive services, you may request a refund by submitting a trash services refund claim form. The refund will be processed by form of check and mailed to the address provided on the claim form. Please allow 2 – 4 weeks for the refund to be processed. Only customers who had an active trash services account from December 9 – 16, 2021 are eligible to receive the credit or refund.

Thank you for your patience while the City worked to find a solution to this problem on behalf of our residents. For questions, please contact Utility Billing Customer Service at (909) 364 – 2660.
