City Council Meeting

Ceremonial Matters and Presentations

1. Certificate Recognizing West Valley Community Services Executive Director Josh Selo

City Council presented a certificate of appreciation to West Valley Community Services Executive Director Josh Selo recognizing his years of service to the community.

Reports by Council and Staff

2. Councilmembers provided brief reports and announcements on their public activities since the prior regular Council meeting.

3. Councilmembers provided updates on their Committee assignments.

4. There were no reports on Subcommittee assignments.

5. City Manager provided updates on City business.

Consent Calendar

Council approved Items 6, 8, 11, and 12 on the Consent Calendar as presented, and pulled Items 7, 9-10, and 13-15 for discussion. Council also reordered the agenda for those items removed from the Consent Calendar and moved Item 15 after Item 16 and moved Items 7, 9-10, and 13-14 to the end of the agenda.

Public Hearings

16. Sign Exception on Storage Facility Buildings

Council took action to adopt Resolution No. 23-025 upholding the appeal in part, approving one of the two requested freeway-oriented signs, and denying the requested Sign Exception.

Items Removed from Consent Calendar

15. Cupertino City Council Procedures Manual

Council took action to approve Resolution No. 23-021, adopting the Cupertino City Council Procedures Manual with an amendment for Council to revisit the item in six months.

Ordinances and Action Items

17. Response to 2022 Civil Grand Jury of Santa Clara County Report Entitled "A House Divided"

Council took action to table the discussion for this item and discuss whether to continue the remaining items that were removed from Consent Calendar.

18. Potential Vacancy Tax Ballot Measure

Council directed staff to not proceed with preparing a study session on a vacancy tax.
