City Council Actions:

Ceremonial Matters and Presentations

1. Accept Grant Funds Presented by Assemblymember Evan Low

Council accepted the grant funds presented by Assemblymember Evan Low for the Jollyman All-Inclusive Playground and McClellan Road Bridge, and presented a certificate of appreciation and plaque to Assemblymember Low for the grant funds.

Proclamation Recognizing September as Hindu Heritage and Awareness Month

Council presented a proclamation recognizing October as Hindu Heritage and Awareness Month to the following people who received the proclamation on behalf of nonprofit organizations serving the community:

-Sulochana Lulla from Hindu American Foundation

-Pushpita Praad, Board Member from Coalition of Hindus in North America

-Venkat Srinivasan from Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh

Proclamation Recognizing September as Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Council presented a proclamation recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month to Rina Bello, Executive Director from Bay Area Cancer Connections.

Postponements and Orders of the Day

Council added Items 14 and 15 to the Consent Calendar.

Reports by Council and Staff

Councilmembers provided brief reports and announcements on their public activities since the prior regular Council meeting.

Councilmembers provided updates on their Committee assignments.

Councilmembers provided updates on their Subcommittee assignments.

City Manager provided updates on City business.

Council received the Economic Development Committee update.

Consent Calendar

Council approved the items on the Consent Calendar as presented, Items 9-13, including Items 14 and 15 which were added to the Consent Calendar under Postponements and Orders of the Day.

Ordinances and Action Items

Consider Ordinance to Comply with AB 1236 for Electric Vehicle Charging Systems

City Clerk Kirsten Squarcia read the title of Ordinance No. 22-2244: "An Ordinance of the Cupertino City Council setting forth procedures for expediting permitting processing for electric vehicle charging stations." Council took action to read Ordinance No. 22-2244 by title only, and that the City Clerk's reading constitutes the first reading thereof.
