PUBLIC NOTICE: To Amend the Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance to allow the sale of alcohol on Thanksgiving Day

Notice is hereby given that the ordinance herein captioned will be read for the first time at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Douglas, Georgia, held on January 9th, 2023 at the CE Weir Center, 307 E. Bryan Street, Douglas, Georgia.

“AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY OF DOUGLAS CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 6, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE SECTION 4-6; TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES” 

This ordinance will be read for the second time followed by a public hearing on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 6 PM at the CE Weir Center, located at 307 E. Bryan Street, Douglas, Georgia.  After the public hearing, the ordinance will be voted upon at the regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Douglas, Georgia.  Anyone interested in said ordinance should be in appearance at the said meeting on the above-stated dates.  

Based on the completion of construction at the new City Hall, the location for any regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commission may change to 302 S. Madison Avenue.
