The City of Hazelwood is now accepting applications for a full time Code Enforcement Officer.

Duties include:

- Perform interior and exterior Residential Occupancy inspections for compliance with adopted Codes and Ordinances
- Inspect building interiors, exteriors, fences, driveways, decks, and property for compliance with applicable Codes and Ordinances
- Issue ordinance violation warnings, citations and court summons
- Patrol assigned sector for code violations
- Provide assistance and advice regarding Codes and Ordinances
- Prepare and serve Administrative Search Warrants to abate nuisance violations
- Be on call to evaluate and declare properties unfit due to uninhabitable conditions

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/technical training with a minimum of one (1) year of building code, inspection or related experience
- ICC Property Maintenance and House Inspector certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date
- OR any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities, and appropriate ICC Certifications
- A valid driver’s license required

Salary & Benefits:

- $52,000
