The City of Hazelwood is now accepting applications for a full time Mechanic.

Duties include:

• Diagnose and repair City vehicle and equipment operating problems 
• Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Test vehicles and equipment for proper operation. Record operating parameters for diagnostic purposes
• Operate a variety of tools, gauges, and diagnostic equipment
• Install cages, light bars, restraint devices, electrical circuits and other equipment in police cars
• Install strobe lights, radios, step plates and other equipment in Public Works vehicles and equipment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational/technical training in auto and heavy equipment mechanics
• Five (5) years vehicle and equipment mechanical repair experience
• OR any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
• A valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary range: $49,000 - $62,001
• Excellent benefits package including pension, medical, dental, vision and life insurance
