The City of Irving has again been awarded two distinctions in the field of Traffic Safety Initiatives. The first award is through the Texas Municipal Courts Traffic Safety Initiatives grant funded by the Texas Department of Transportation to recognize those municipal courts that demonstrate outstanding contributions to traffic safety. Of more than 900 municipal courts in the State of Texas, the City of Irving Municipal Court has the unique distinction of being the only municipal court in the entire state to win the award every year since the award's inception in 2008. 

Since 2014, Texas Employer Traffic Safety Awards have been presented annually by the National Safety Council and the Texas Department of Transportation to recognize employers who show an unwavering commitment to traffic safety. Through its continued efforts to promote traffic safety, the City of Irving has been recognized as one of those best practice employers every year since the award’s inception in 2014.
